National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 1989

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 1989

Here come the Griswald family again in this hilarious Christmas romp that personally we never tire of watching. Starring Chevy Chase as the happless Clark along with Beverley D'angelo as his wife Ellen the family are preparing to celebrate Christmas in their usual chaotic fashion.

Clark is expecting a huge bonus from his employer and "buys" Christmas on the strength of it but as is always the case when it's the Griswalds all does not go according to plan. Clark invites all the family including in laws and erects over 20,000 Christmas lights outside his house, while adding to Clark's problems is the fact that the huge bonus is incredibly small.

From exploding turkeys to the Christmas tree ending up on fire National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 1989 is one hilarious set of mishaps from start to finish and certainly offers the feel good factor to audiences everywhere.

Home Alone

Home Alone

Home Alone was released in 1990 but has lost none of its appeal almost fifteen years on. Starring Macauley Culkin as the unfortunate eight year old child Kevin Home alone is an hilarious feel good movie that also sends the message that no-one should spend Christmas alone no matter what their circumstances may be.

Kevin is left Home Alone mistakenly by his family who jet away for the Christmas holidays. Kevin then has to defend the family home against hapless burglars played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern. Kevin fights them off by setting all kinds of wonderful and imaginative traps with really funny results.

Kevin also gets to know his lonely old neighbour in the guise of Old Man Marley played by Roberts Blossom. Marley has not seen his family for years and Kevin intervenes in order to bring about a happy Christmas for Marley. One of the Christmas greats, this film never fails to please no matter how many times we watch it.

Trading Places

Trading Places

Trading Places sees two very callous millionaires conduct an experiment that will change the lives of its victims forever. Set over Christmas time Randolph and Mortimer Duke collude in order to swap the life of one of their trusted employees played by Dan Akroyd with that of street thief Eddie Murphy to prove that in the correct surroundings even a down and out can make money.

The plot in Trading Places also includes a hooker played by the lovely Jamie Lee Curtis and an hilarious butler played by the late Denholm Elliot. The two victims discover the plot and decide to come together to pay back the Mortimer brothers big style. What happens next is very funny with the intended victims exacting their revenge on New Years Day. This feel good romp is a Christmas must see!
